In Edintel we work solutions that allow us to locate a possible outbreak of fire in the fastest way without human intervention, thus minimizing the risk to lives and property damage. We offer a wide range of possibilities in terms of fire protection systems, always starting from the concept of prevention.
In the projects we develop for fire protection we consider that early detection of a fire is the best tool to gain the necessary time to allow us to intervene immediately or even proceed to an orderly evacuation of the establishment, ensuring the safety of people. Therefore, we look for the most appropriate security system that allows the location of a possible outbreak of fire in the fastest way without human intervention, in order to minimize the risk of lives and property damage.
In this case we will talk about critical sites where a fire outbreak can develop and the system we can use to prevent them from occurring.
Detection by vacuum systems
These systems are especially recommended for critical areas, because of the difficulty of their later maintenance, electrical rooms, false ceilings, etc. We can mention the VESDA-E system which is an aspiration system and which has very interesting functionalities for the early detection of a fire.
How does the VESDA-E system work?
A high-performance aspirator continuously draws air from the protected zone through the air sampling pipe network and into the detector. The air sampling pipe network can consist of up to four pipes. The air from each sampling pipe passes through a flow sensor, and then a sample of the air reaches the Flair detection chamber via the sampling module, first passing through the filter. Another filter provides clean air to protect the optical surfaces inside the sensing chamber from the risk of contamination.
The FlairTM detection chamber employs imaging, multi-directional light scattering and sophisticated algorithms for smoke detection and particle type characterization. If the detected smoke exceeds alarm trigger thresholds, an alert, action, fire1 or fire2 alarm condition is generated. Air is expelled from the detector and can be blown back into the protected area. Alarms can be signaled by relays. Ethernet and Wi-Fi can be used for configuration and auxiliary monitoring, and a USB interface is provided for initial configuration. A series of LED lights signal alarm, trouble, disable and detector on status. A button allows the user to reset or disable the detector. In addition, an optional 3.5″ LCD display shows detector status, including smoke level and a bar graph of smoke level, alarm thresholds, trouble status, airflow level in percent, normalization status, and elapsed filter life.
Features of this VESDA-E system
- It is the first aspirating smoke detector for standard addressable detection applications with non-intrusive maintenance and uninterrupted operation and significantly reduced maintenance time.
- It offers precise addressability through the use of a network of narrow-bore tubes connected to sampling points located in the protected area.
- It offers exceptional detection, with integrated filters and self-cleaning, allowing guaranteed detection with a minimum of false alarms.
Fire Suppression System
We can also mention that there is the fire suppression system, which is one of our pillars within our range of services in Edintel.
Normally suppression systems are used in critical environments such as data centers, museums, control rooms, archives and more. It is important to check them periodically to ensure their operation, downloading any of the following agents: Novec1230, FK-5-1-12, FM200 and Ecaro25 when smoke is detected.
To avoid false alarms, they should always be configured for two variables: temperature and smoke. During maintenance, the tank, the agent load, the board, the nozzles, among other factors, are checked.
Benefits of this type of systems
- These systems are fast, effective, safe, clean and environmentally friendly.
- Clean agent systems are also three-dimensional.
- Most systems can reach extinguishing concentration levels in just 10 seconds or less. Clean agents are designed to suppress the fire while it is still in its initial stage, which means it will suppress the fire before it grows and enters the heat/flame stage.
With this system you can protect all critical information located in critical locations within your company and provide business continuity without loss.
